Places to visit in the Town Centre

Not far from the university town of Cambridge and the centre of horse racing, Newmarket, is the Medieval Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. The town centre is a grid layout, the work of a French abbot, a layout much used in The New World. Wednesday and Saturdays are market days and there are many events throughout the year. A centre for business in East Anglia, Bury St Edmunds is the home of Greene King the country's largest brewer. As well as an amazing micro climate the delicate aroma from the brewery on some days is a delight.
